Freestyle
The most physically demanding discipline of roller figure skating, free skating as an individual (SINGLES), or with a partner (PAIRS), requires training on and off of skates to strengthen, condition and stretch the skating athlete's body to withstand the rigures of specific content items, jumps, spins and footwork with music to create an athletic performance that embraces both sport and entertainment.

The judging criteria includes speed, height in jumps, as well as control, velocity in a variety of positions in spins. All content items must be executed properly. These elements of freeskating are scored as technical merit.

The skater's footwork must interpret the music with originality and confidence, while providing a pleasing, entertaining performance to the viewing audience. These element of freeskating are scored as manner of performance which reflects the skating athlete's poise, showmanship and expression during the routine.
